Well its been a week since I won Business Person of the Year at the Wirral Business Awards 2019 run by Wirral Chamber of Commerce and Mills Media Creative.
Since forming Hoist UK with Tony Dickson back in 2006 with a joint investment of £100 each, we have had real growth year on year, starting business life in a rented office to now having a multi-million-pound turnover operating from manufacturing site in Moreton, Wirral with local staff from the Wirral and surrounding areas.
At our core, we have very strict commercial and financial principles which have served us well during our journey which allowed us to have a stable platform to build the business on.
I personally can't take all the praise for this philosophy, but it was developed jointly with my business partner and friend Tony Dickson. We are a team of people who want to help the customer and offer clear, concise advice and offer a value for money product, which is fit for purpose under our company motto of "Safety Above All".
In these Pre-Brexit times, we are looking to the future and are investing further in our staff and products through research and development to have a range of quality British made lifting equipment, hoists and cranes which are designed, manufactured and installed by our own team of engineers nationwide to control our own destiny.
Unlike most other UK manufacturer's we are not afraid of what the future holds Post-Brexit, but know that we have the necessary tools, people, products and resources to manage this situation and continue to grow and develop as a business to look after our customers, staff and suppliers with the help and support of Paula Basnett and her team at the Wirral Chamber of Commerce, we continue to flourish.
Running these new British manufactured products alongside our existing European products will help safeguard our own business and enable us to continue our growth which will benefit the UK as a whole, by sourcing materials locally helping satisfy our UKAS accredited ISO 9001 quality and ISO 14001 environment management systems and giving the customer a choice to "Buy British", especially with Brexit looming.
Hoist UK are a full-service provider with dedicated in-house teams for everything from design and manufacture, commission and supply to installation and testing.
We pride ourselves on providing an end-to-end service for our customers.
We work in general and specialised areas of the industrial and entertainment industry and there are no areas of B2B work that we cant supply our equipment to. Our range has been developed over time to meet our customer's needs, enabling us to deliver excellent service, innovative lifting and handling solutions, and a true customer focus.
No matter what the outcome of the Conservative leadership contest or their stance on Brexit, we as a nation need to look to the future and make a positive effort to improve and "Buy British".
Hoist UK are prepared for any outcome and it is our intention to continue our growth, which will be based upon British design, manufacturing and quality at its very heart and we embrace the challenge and recommend that all UK businesses take that positive approach too.
