The particulars:

Hoist UK are a well established UK manufacturer and supplier of hoists, cranes and lifting equipment for the industrial and entertainment market place.

We are looking for an Installation Engineer based at our Wirral factory for installation, repairs and maintenance of hoists, cranes and lifting equipment at our customers sites along with work at our site on the Wirral.

The candidate:

The ideal candidate will have experience working in the lifting sector. You will need to have the ability to work within a team and will have a good working knowledge and experience of electro-mechanical service or maintenance work along with installation of steel structures.

Hoist UK are a full member of The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) and focus on the development of individuals, so your role will include further training to develop your skills and industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain mechanical systems and equipment according to specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilise a valid driving license to travel to various job sites as required.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and hold a valid CSCS card while performing installations.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects and maintain high-quality standards.

Role Requirements:

  • Experience in the lifting industry (preferred)
  • Background in electro-mechanical or maintenance engineering (preferred)
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Ability to travel nationwide for installation/inspection and servicing of our equipment on customer sites, with paid overtime guaranteed (travel plus time on site)
  • Willingness to work overtime in line with the company workload
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage technical challenges on our or our customer's sites
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to generate reports on work carried out

Preferred Experience:

  • Electro-mechanical equipment fault finding
  • Basic industrial 3 phase electrics
  • Experience in low voltage control systems
  • Repair of hoists and overhead cranes (preferred)
  • Inspections of cranes and lifting equipment under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER)

The role:

You will be working as an experienced Lifting Equipment Engineer both in house and on site handling all aspects of the job including installation, inspection, repairs, fault finding, servicing & maintenance of a wide range of cranes and lifting equipment.

  • Hours will be 8:30am to 5:00pm, 4 days per week Monday to Thursday with 2:30pm finish on a Friday (40 hour working week plus overtime)
  • Flexibility in working hours will be essential to the successful implementation of this role
  • This is a permanent position (following a trial period) and salary is negotiable dependent upon experience and skills
  • Applicants should be aware that the position will require them to work outside of the local area on occasion and that there will be periods where you will be away from home during which time the company will arrange hotel and subsistence
