The particulars:

Hoist UK are currently seeking an enthusiastic candidate to train as a crane/lifting equipment engineer based locally and working nationally.

Hoist UK are a market leading supplier and manufacturer of lifting and handling equipment to the entertainment and industrial market sectors. Based in Moreton, Wirral, we work with a variety of customers on projects throughout the UK and internationally.

The candidate:

Applicants should have some previous mechanical or electrical engineering experience and will be trained over a 24-month period leading to a fully accredited lifting equipment qualification allowing you to confidently work within the crane / lifting equipment industry.

You will be given in-house and external training including LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineer Association) training, FLT & MEWP licences, First Aid and CSCS card.

The ideal candidate must be physically fit and hold a full, clean UK driving licence.

Applicants should have excellent written and oral communication skills, candidates must have English as a first language or be fluent in English if it is a second language and have a commitment to providing a first class customer service.

The successful candidate will also be required to complete various administrative tasks with accurate record keeping and complete other duties as required and therefore should be competent with basic computer software (ability to operate Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook).

The role:

Initially you will be working with experienced Lifting Equipment Engineers both in house and on site in a supporting role where you will be taught all aspects of the job including installation, inspection, repairs, fault finding, servicing & maintenance of a wide range of cranes and lifting equipment.

  • Hours will be 8:30am to 5:00pm 4 days per week Monday to Thursday with 2:30pm finish on a Friday (40 hour working week plus overtime)
  • Flexibility in working hours will be essential to the successful implementation of this role
  • This is a permanent position (following a trial period) and salary is negotiable dependent upon experience and skills
  • Applicants should be aware that the position will require them to work outside of the local area on occasion and that there will be periods where you will be away from home during which time the company will arrange hotel and subsistence
