The Eurobloc VT electric wire rope hoist is a quality, heavy duty hoist best suited for high lifting capacities of 10,000kg or more and offers fast lifting speeds. WIRE ROPE HOISTS VS. CHAIN HOISTS
Both wire rope hoists wire rope hoists and chain hoists are robust lifting appliances that are widely used across numerous industry sectors in a variety of lifting applications. Wire rope hoists have higher lifting capacities and our range of Eurobloc VT electric wire rope hoists are able to lift up to 250 tonnes, compared with 10 tonnes from our electric chain hoists and 50 tonnes from our manual chain hoists. The greater lifting capacity is one of the factors that makes wire rope hoists a more expensive option compared with a chain hoist, but there are other things to consider when trying to decide whether a wire rope hoist or a chain hoist would be better suited to your operation.
ACHIEVING TRUE VERTICAL LIFT FOR PRECISE LIFTING WITH A WIRE ROPE HOIST
In essence, true vertical lift is a hoists ability to lift the hook straight up and down, to pick up or put down a load in an exact position with no hook drift. It occurs when a hoist (lower block) moves in a true vertical path between the lower limit of travel, which happens when the rope(s) anchored at each end of the drum wind from the centre of the drum outward (inward when raising the hook); enabling the hook and load to be centred below the middle of the drum. This design prevents the hook from wandering from one end of the drum to the other in the highest and lowest hook positions.
